5 Tips to Keep Your Seat Looking New
Simple habits for years of perfect condition
1. Regular Wipe-Down
After a rainy ride or a dusty trail, give your seat a quick wipe with a damp microfiber cloth. This prevents dirt from embedding into the stitching grooves and keeps the sky leather supple. Takes 30 seconds and prevents 90% of long-term wear.
2. UV Protection Spray
Sky leather has built-in UV resistance, but an extra layer of protection doesn't hurt. Apply a UV protectant spray (like 303 Aerospace Protectant) once every 3 months. This keeps the colour vibrant and the material flexible, especially if your bike lives outdoors.
3. Avoid Harsh Chemicals
Never use solvents, bleach, or abrasive cleaners on your seat. For tough stains, use a mild soap solution and a soft brush. Alcohol-based cleaners can dry out the material over time. When in doubt, warm water and a microfiber cloth will handle most situations.
4. Cover When Stored
If your bike is parked outdoors for extended periods (weeks, not hours), a simple seat cover prevents UV exposure and bird droppings from damaging the surface. A universal motorcycle seat cover costs under 15 euros and saves you from costly repairs.
5. Check the Stitching
Once a year, inspect the stitching for loose threads. Our contrast threads are industrial grade, but catches on clothing or bags can occasionally pull a thread. If you spot a loose one, don't pull it — contact us for a free repair under warranty.
