Hexagon vs Diamond Stitching

How to choose the right pattern for your custom seat

Hexagon Stitching

Our signature pattern. Hexagonal panels create a modern, technical look that pairs perfectly with the X-ADV's angular design language. Each hexagon is individually stitched with thick contrast thread.

  • Visual impact: High. The geometric pattern catches light and creates depth.
  • Grip: Good. The raised seams between hexagons provide natural grip lines.
  • Best for: Riders who want a modern, sporty aesthetic. Works especially well with vibrant thread colours like red, cyan, or fluorescent green on a black base.

Diamond Stitching

The classic choice. Diamond (or quilted) stitching creates a luxury feel reminiscent of high-end car interiors. More subtle than hexagon but equally refined.

  • Visual impact: Medium-high. Elegant and timeless rather than aggressive.
  • Grip: Very good. Diamond patterns create more grip points per square centimetre.
  • Best for: Riders who prefer a classic, luxury aesthetic. Pairs beautifully with gold or silver thread on dark bases.

Other Options

Diagonal stitching: Simple parallel lines at 45 degrees. Clean, minimal, modern. Lower visual complexity but very consistent grip.

Smooth (no stitch): Completely flat surface with no visible stitching. Clean look, slightly lower price point. Best for riders who want a factory-fresh appearance.

Our Recommendation

If you're unsure, go with hexagon. It's our most popular pattern for a reason: it looks incredible in photos, provides good grip, and the contrast thread really pops against the sky leather base. Gold Diamond is a close second for riders wanting something more refined.
